I don’t watch a lot of TV so usually miss the latest craze of what’s hot or the flavour of the month…and in most cases thank the maker for that as most TV shows are just drivel! For instance, Friends was a very popular show on TV but I can’t stand it. I prefer the far superior Frasier!
But, once in a while a gem comes along, the now defunct Firefly was one such gem but what I’m talking about today is the totally addictive HEROES.
I’ve had Series 1 in my DVD collection for some months now but had never watched any of it. That is until Sunday August 3rd, 2008.
I’d watched one episode of Series 2, the first one I think and decided to see what all the fuss was about…getting the Series 2. DVD set was also a catalyst in making me rip off the plastic and shove S1 in the DVD player mind!
Over the course of eight hours I watched 14 episodes, eventually falling asleep at 8.00am. Luckily, I was off work Monday so. After a visit to the Cinema in the afternoon to take my 5 year old to see Wall-E I then popped in the DVD again and watched a further 5 before drifting off into the land of nod.
Tuesday afternoon, just before work I managed to cram in a further 2 episodes…
…back from work and the clock heading towards midnight I took in the last 2 episodes!!!
DAMN!
Why didn’t Sylar bite it!?
Well, you can’t keep a good baddie down can ya?
I have to say I REALLY got ‘in’ to Heroes, particularly enjoying the non-linear style to the story-telling and the script was top notch!
I am really looking forward to watching Series 2 and the good thing about it is, I can just pop THAT in the player too!
Lord knows how I’ll handle Series 3 on TV…do I watch it, week by week by painstaking week or do I just wait for the series to be released on DVD?
Hmmmm
Decisions, decisions!
BUT the best decision at the moment is to switch off and get some shut eye…off to work in 5.5 hours!
