Clone Wars Deleted Scene

September 8th, 2008

Sompeetalay, of TK-421 pops in with a couple of greatscans:

Hi guys

While reading “The Clone Wars Galactic Photobook” yesterday I stumbled across an entire page of deleted material from the movie. It’s part of the scene where Anakin, Ahsoka and Asajj fall into the pit with the Jungle Rancor.

Great stuff!

Resolution

September 7th, 2008

Well, there is a resolution to my ‘feet’ issue.

My wife works in the same place and on the same department so she is going to do my shift for me so I can rest my aching sole!!!

What would I do without my Cheryl in my life?

Perish the thought *shudders*

I love you my darling.

Feet

September 7th, 2008

Well, Saturday the 6th was my first day BACK on ‘Floor’ at the Cinema - having been a Supervisor for 2.5 years I decided to step down, long story, won’t go into it, suffice to say there’s more to life than 50p extra an hour - and boy oh boy oh boy, was I unprepared for the sheer agony at the end of my shift that my feet decided to present me with.

Now, what has me puzzled is that as a Supervisor It wasn’t all about sitting down, far from it, but I guess I was off and on my feet enough to not cause issue.

Not so after 7 hours on my feet.

I’m in so much pain that even the walk over to escort my wife home was an ordeal later on in the evening.

I have to admit, I am a little concerned about my 12.30-9.30 shift later on today and if I’m going to be fit - or should I say, feet - enough for it!

Wish me luck.

One Thing Worse…

August 26th, 2008

There’s only one thing worse than whining Star Wars ‘fans’…and that is whining Star Wars ‘fans’ that write ‘Dear George Lucas…’ posts, usually telling him to ’stop meddling with Star Wars’ because, as we all know, Star Wars belongs to the ‘fans’ not the man who created it!

Then there are the ones who post up stupid obituary posts like a recent ‘Star Wars - 1977-2008 - RIP’ topic.

Hmmm, I worry about the sanity of people sometimes.

Technology, Huh?!

August 25th, 2008

I suppose I should be thankful for small mercies, having more than one computer to play about with but what a pain in the ass they can be, at times.

Up to just a few hours ago I had the use of my office PC, the occasional attempt at using my daughters Laptop in the lounge, ‘occasional’ meaning when there’s a spare moment when she’s not on it! And also a rather crappy Medion PC in the bedroom.

I was using the Medion purely because the display on my old Compaq Laptop had packed up and decided not to work after only a year and a half of usage…but what a pain the proverbial ass the Medion PC turned out to be…slower than a snail smoking ganja most of the time, very frustrating!

I suppose I could simply get off MY ass and use the office PC but hey, there is nothing like simply stretching over and sleepily switching on the computer without having to get out if bed!!!

So, while feeling slightly peeved at the snails pace of the Medion I suddenly had a DOH! Moment

Why not simply plug the monitor cable into Laptop and use the External Display option?

So, I excitedly tried this (by now it should be totally clear to you that I am easily pleased and have no life) and by George Lucas it worked!!!

Yippeeee!

So, no more Medion for me, I am now a happy camper once more…only trouble is, I now have to reinstall everything!!!

Oh well, dontcha just love technology?!

Feels Like Forever

August 21st, 2008

Honestly, it feels like forever since I last posted here but in reallity it’s only been eleven days.

I have to admit that I’ve lacked motivation this last week or so, feeling tired from work BUT I’ve got a day off !

Woo Hoo!!!

I’ll probably go and watch Hellboy 2 and The Clone Wars, if I can be arsed that is, once I’m asleep it’s difficult to drag myself out of it…yes, I’m old and being a diabetic and eating all the wrong things doesn’t help!

AND trying to pack in smoking the death sticks AGAIN.

At least there’s one saving grace, I stopped drinking alcohol in 2001 - well, okay, there was that one staff night out in 2005 but that doesn’t count!
;)

Ooh, the Ballyhoo

August 9th, 2008

Turns out the critics are being pretty venomous about the Star Wars animated movie The Clone Wars.

Some fans are worried that if people don’t like the film it means it will look bad in them, as if Unkie George has let them down.

Weird.

Aren’t you simply a fan of something or not?

Why is being a fan mean you have to think you have the right to demand what you want?

If the critics hate it, great!

If the critics love it, great!

Either way it shouldn’t bother the fans and the fans should stop bothering what Star Wars should be and either join in the fun or move on.

The Star Wars Saga is a story aimed at kids…accept that, the fact that you’re a FAN of a kids flick and all will be right with the world.

I think the critics MISS that little fact. They’re expecting seriousness and darkness and they’re getting popcorn!

Yay!

Long live popcorn!

We Could Be Heroes

August 6th, 2008

I don’t watch a lot of TV so usually miss the latest craze of what’s hot or the flavour of the month…and in most cases thank the maker for that as most TV shows are just drivel! For instance, Friends was a very popular show on TV but I can’t stand it. I prefer the far superior Frasier!

But, once in a while a gem comes along, the now defunct Firefly was one such gem but what I’m talking about today is the totally addictive HEROES.

I’ve had Series 1 in my DVD collection for some months now but had never watched any of it. That is until Sunday August 3rd, 2008.

I’d watched one episode of Series 2, the first one I think and decided to see what all the fuss was about…getting the Series 2. DVD set was also a catalyst in making me rip off the plastic and shove S1 in the DVD player mind!

Over the course of eight hours I watched 14 episodes, eventually falling asleep at 8.00am. Luckily, I was off work Monday so. After a visit to the Cinema in the afternoon to take my 5 year old to see Wall-E I then popped in the DVD again and watched a further 5 before drifting off into the land of nod.

Tuesday afternoon, just before work I managed to cram in a further 2 episodes…

…back from work and the clock heading towards midnight I took in the last 2 episodes!!!

DAMN!

Why didn’t Sylar bite it!?

Well, you can’t keep a good baddie down can ya?

I have to say I REALLY got ‘in’ to Heroes, particularly enjoying the non-linear style to the story-telling and the script was top notch!

I am really looking forward to watching Series 2 and the good thing about it is, I can just pop THAT in the player too!

Lord knows how I’ll handle Series 3 on TV…do I watch it, week by week by painstaking week or do I just wait for the series to be released on DVD?

Hmmmm

Decisions, decisions!

BUT the best decision at the moment is to switch off and get some shut eye…off to work in 5.5 hours!

Limits

August 3rd, 2008

Yep, iPhone DOES have it’s limits I’m afraid.

I would love to have the ability when on the move to post to GEN. I mean, I can already, same as I can post here via iPhone BUT it can only be New or Edited posts and SOMETIMES, when I’m on the move I browse and come across interesting articles…I even get the occasional email that I would like to quote.

I cannot do any of this. iPhone does not allow the simple browser trick Copy n Paste.

Means I have to wait until I get home to my PC to post anything.

Apple really NEED to implement this HIGHLY sought after App, Plugin, Whatever soon, it’s a pet peeve of many an iPhone user, at least those of us who run web sites anyway.

And while I’m on the subject, why can I never seem to get the YouTube App to work!!!

Still, I love my iphone and wouldn’t want any other mobile, go figure!
